An unthreaded thinwall raceway of circular cross section designed forthe physical protection and routing of conductors and cablesand foruse as an equipment grounding conductor when installed utilizingappropriate fittings. EMT is generally made ofsteel (ferrous) with protective coatings or aluminum (nonferrous).
EMTFittings are set-screw and compression type and used to join EMT conduit to abox or enclosure. EMT does not have any threads. They can be die castor steel depending on job specs
